Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 2026-05-25
Welcome to ChartBrick ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ChartBrick, a software-as-a-service tool for creating charts and dashboards from your data. ChartBrick is operated from Spain. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher) to use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other entity, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity.
3. The Service
ChartBrick lets you connect data sources (CSV, Excel, JSON, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, Stackby), build charts and dashboards, and share them via a public link or embed code. We offer a free plan with a limit of 4 charts and a paid Unlimited plan. Specific features, limits, and prices for each plan are described on our pricing page.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us at [email protected] as soon as you become aware of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to secure your account credentials.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. When you close your account, your personal data and workspace data are deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Your Data and License to Us
You retain full ownership of the data you upload to or connect with ChartBrick, and of the charts and dashboards you create. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
You grant ChartBrick the permissions we need to host, process, and display your data so the Service can render your charts, make them available to people you choose to share them with, and embed them where you choose to embed them. These permissions are limited to what is necessary to operate the Service and end when you delete the relevant content or close your account.
6. Your Responsibility for the Data You Connect
You confirm that you have the right to use, upload, and connect the data sources you bring to ChartBrick (files you upload, databases you connect, or third-party services you authorize). You are responsible for obtaining any consents needed from the people whose data you process. We do not review the content of your data and have no obligation to do so.
7. Sharing and Embeds
When you publish a chart or dashboard via a share link or embed code, it becomes accessible to anyone with that link or on any website where it is embedded. You are responsible for choosing whether to share, where to embed, and for the content that is rendered. You can unpublish a chart at any time; once unpublished, embed code and share links stop returning chart data.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or process data that you do not have the right to use, or that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
- Connect a third-party data source (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, Stackby) you are not authorized to access.
- Publish or embed charts containing illegal content or content used for phishing, scams, or other malicious purposes.
- Attempt to disrupt or bypass the Service: reverse-engineer it, probe it for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure, scrape it at scale, abuse rate limits, or use it to deliver malware.
- Share, resell, or otherwise transfer access to your account (including a lifetime deal account) to people beyond the seats included in your plan.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.
9. AI-Powered Features
ChartBrick uses OpenAI to generate chart suggestions from your dataset metadata. As described in our Privacy Policy, we send only column names, types, and per-column unique-value counts — never the underlying rows or values. AI output is provided as-is: suggestions may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your data, and you are responsible for reviewing them before relying on the resulting chart.
10. Billing, Plans, and Cancellation
Paid plans renew automatically (monthly or annually, as you choose) until you cancel. You can cancel from your account settings at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
11. Refunds
We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. A free plan is available so you can evaluate ChartBrick before paying. Exceptions are made for duplicate charges and similar billing errors.
Two specific cases:
- EU consumers. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase under EU consumer law. To exercise this right, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase and we will issue a refund for the unused portion.
- AppSumo lifetime deals. Purchases through AppSumo are governed by the refund policy stated on the AppSumo deal page. Refund requests for AppSumo purchases must be made through AppSumo, not ChartBrick. Outside the AppSumo refund window, the rest of this section applies.
12. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices. Existing paying subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. If you disagree with the new price, you can cancel before the change applies. Lifetime deals purchased before a price change are not affected.
13. Fair Use
The Unlimited plan is sold without preset numerical caps on charts, dashboards, datasets, or embed views. We reserve the right to review usage that is materially disproportionate to typical use (for example, abusive automation, hosting embeds on traffic at the scale of a major media site, or behaviour that degrades the Service for other users), and to introduce limits or additional charges in those cases. We will contact you before taking action.
14. Our Intellectual Property
The ChartBrick name, logo, software, design, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service itself other than the limited right to use it as described.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service interoperates with third-party providers (data sources you connect, payment processing, hosting, analytics) and may link to external sites. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third-party service. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service's own terms.
16. Service Availability, Updates, and Maintenance
We aim for high availability, but we do not offer a contractual uptime commitment on any current plan. We may perform maintenance, ship updates, change features, or temporarily suspend parts of the Service at any time.
17. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms (including the Acceptable Use section), if your payment fails after reasonable retries, if we are required to do so by law, or in cases of fraud or abuse. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue first.
18. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of charts or AI suggestions, uninterrupted operation, and freedom from errors. Decisions you make based on charts produced with ChartBrick are your own responsibility.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law, including the mandatory rights of consumers.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of that country in addition to the Spanish courts.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify users by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a material change means you accept it. If you do not accept a material change, contact us and we will find a fair resolution (such as letting you cancel an active paid subscription).
Non-material changes (clarifications, typos, formatting) take effect on the date shown at the top of this page without further notice.
22. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and ChartBrick regarding the Service.
